United Regional Receives Top Hospital Award

Wichita Falls, TX  United Regional received the 2017 Top Hospital Award from the Leapfrog Group.  This distinction is achieved only by those hospitals that meet some of the nation’s toughest safety and quality standards. Over 1900 hospitals were considered for this honor. Selection is based on submitted results of Leapfrog Hospital Surveys and  publicly-available metrics in medication safety, inpatient care management, infections and injuries, and maternity care.

Shannon Receives Multiple Awards

 Shannon recently received multiple national awards from the American Heart and American Stroke Association including the Mission: Lifeline® Gold Receiving Quality   Achievement Award and the Get With The Guidelines®-Heart Failure Gold Quality Achievement Award.The Mission: Lifeline® Gold Receiving Quality Achievement Award was   given to Shannon for implementation of specific quality improvement measures outlined by the American Heart Association for the treatment of patients who suffer severe heart   attacks and the Get With The Guidelines®-Heart Failure Gold Quality Achievement Award for implementation of specific quality improvement measures outlined by the   American Heart Association/American College of Cardiology Foundation’s secondary prevention guidelines for patients with heart failure.

Scott & White Medical Center Kidney Pancreas Transplant Program Sets Record
140 patients received a life-saving kidney or combined kidney-pancreas transplant in a year

TEMPLE, Texas 1-18-2018
Scott & White Medical Center – Temple kidney transplantation program performed a record 153 abdominal organ transplants in one year, surpassing last year’s previous record of 87.  Since its inception on Jan. 18, 1997, the program has performed more than 800 abdominal organ transplants and 63 heart transplants.

CHI St. Luke’s Health Achieves 5-Star Quality Rating from CMS

Pasadena, TX (January 4, 2018) – CHI St. Luke’s Health—Patients Medical Center (Patients Medical Center) has achieved a five-star quality rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). With more than 4,500 hospitals participating in the federally-funded healthcare program, Patients Medical Center was one of only 337 hospitals nationwide and 33 in Texas awarded a five-star rating.

Five stars is the highest rating a hospital can receive through the Hospital Compare overall rating scale.

First in the United States: Baby Born to Mother Who Received Transplanted Uterus

Dallas, Texas (December 4, 2017) – Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas, a part
of Baylor Scott & White Health, today announces that a baby has been born to a mother
who received a uterus transplant as part of a landmark clinical trial conducted over the
past year and a half.
